What kind of idiot brews beer, and labor- and heat- intensive lager beer, on a 90+ degree afternoon? All right, the answer is clear, but I have an excuse: it's for our friends Aaron and Beth, to be served at their October wedding. And who could refuse such a charming couple:
(They don't normally dress quite like that, but we were having cassoulet for dinner.) So, anyway, target OG around 1.048, 40 BU from Sterling in the kettle and a couple of sizeable additions of Saaz late in the boil. As luck would have it, I have an earlier version of this same beer in my stein right now....
